Myths And More Myths About Reducing Your Fuel Consumption! By GARKO In order for you to receive and understand actual information you first have to erase the incorrect information as a preliminary activity. There is actually a technology to clear out incorrect information but it can't be done here in this article. But I will do the best that I can under the circumstances. I want to help you find out about a true solution for improving your fuel economy. First, however. let me nullify some of the incorrect information that have encountered.
TO FRY OR NOT TO FRY? Are you actually driving around in Florida in August with your air conditioner off, frying in order to improve your fuel economy? Well let me inform you that having your AC off, assuming your automoblie runs well in other aspects will only save you about 1 mile per gallon. So ask yourself this question.. is it worth it?
However, if you want to turn your airconditioner off for some purpose (some people don't prefer recycled air) and keep your windows open on the high speed roads, you should be informed that per a Consumer Reports study that claim was refuted that having windows open on the high speed roads actually produced sufficient drag to reduce fuel mileage. So the bottom line? Suit yourself. Do what's comfortable.
"ONLY pump fuel on Wednesdays when the wind is from the East and the harvest moon is in the East or between 6:15 AM and 6:50 AM"
Some people claim the best time to buy fuel is on a Wednesday, when gas prices have settled back down from the weekend bump when gas stations typically bump prices. Well you can do your own checking of this at your local fuel station and disprove the theory. Fact is that fuel prices go up, fuel prices shrink. The only substantial bumps happen during Holidays so it does make sense
to fill up a few days before a Holiday if possible and this will save you a bit.
POWER DOWN Restart your engines - this is a funny one. Could you imagine driving on the road with some driver in front of you who turned their vehicle engine off at every red light just to improve your fuel economy? Could you visualize if a large number of vehicles around you were doing that? It just hits me as a funny scene. And it doesn't save much fuel besides. Surely your weakest mileage is when you are burning fuel and not moving but it doesn't amount to very much.
PADONK! PADONK! That is the sound of driving with a deformed tire. Yeah you need to maintain tires at standard pressure but for other reasons besides to improve your fuel economy. You won't accomplish much except some slight improvement by ensuring your tire pressure is standard.
DE-JUNK YOUR TRUNK Your total savings will be approximately 3-6 cents per gallon by unloading the excess from your trunk and back seat. So, if you consume 15 gallons/week you save between 50 cents and $1 per week (and how much is your Starbucks bill again? ) and that tallies to $25-50 per year!! Wow! Let's have a party!
READY FOR A REVOLUTION? What if you never had to buy another gallon of gasoline again? Convert your gasoline engine to hydrogen. If you do a partial (hybrid) conversion then you can expect to see savings on your gasoline consumption of up to 30% maybe more. If you do this and also add acetone to your gas tank (which will save you another 25% or so) then you will have improved your fuel economy by a combined 50%! Put in about 2-3 ounces of acetone per 10 gallons of gasoline and less gasoline will vaporize and you improve your fuel economy by 25% or more. If you do a full gas to hydrogen conversion then you will never have to pump another gallon of gasoline for the rest of your life. It is very simple to do, costs hardly anything, helps the environment and you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are conserving resources instead of consuming more than your fair share. Entrepreneur, songwriter, activist and consumer advocate, GARKO, recommends hybrid engines as the best solution for money saver on gas and as an alternative in gasoline savers For a list of current gasoline prices in your neighborhood email garko@startlingdiscoveries.info
