Fuel Saving Tips And Recommendations For Improved Car Performance Part 2
By GARKO
In recent days, I have been busily researching any additional remedies for obtaining lower gasoline usage and I found out something interesting. The tips that actually work to improve fuel economy also save you on additional vehicle repairs brought on by poor driving habits.

Unless you are paying hundreds of dollars every year to keep your vehicle under complete a-z warranty or you have a death wish streak which aberratedly enjoys dragging your dysfunctional auto to the shop and being ripped off with additional vehicle repairs and having your car sit for days at the shop while you take the subways and fret over it like a father-to-be in a maternity ward then maybe wish to heed these solutions. Saving cash on gasoline and on vehicle repairs are cousins.

Consider what better things you could do with the money that you are wasting on additional work needing to be done on your vehicle . Take a trip? Buy a better vehicle? Install a home theater system? Absolutely there are more optimum things you can use your cash for than pouring it into your automobile!

In 2006 the average cost of a gallon of gasoline was $2.14.
Fast forward to February 2008 and it is $3.08 across all 50 states.
Three years ago the cost of one single barrel of oil was $50 and folks were outraged.
In 2007 the cost of a barrel of oil is $100 and people have sunk into despair.
Of course, the steep devaluation of the dollar also plays a part. It can be observed that while the cost of gasoline has soared, the dollar going down has also made the cost of gasoline appear to go up faster than it actually has. All in all, it is a serious time for the US economy and gasoline prices.
If you are not yet ready to surrender and are still seeking to maximize your fuel efficiency and keep as much money as possibly in your bank account and out of the greedy, slimy fingers of oil industry executives then there are things that you can do.

Do you remember the episode of the original Star Trek where Captain Kirk, the great captain of the Starship Enterprise ends up in a society that is dramatizing gangland Chicago and Kirk is attempting to "captain" an old style car and control the gear shifting and somehow accomplishes a short drive down the street with many jumps and starts and lurches? That was not a training manual! My message? Be a smooth driver. Abrupt stops aren't great for your automobile or your vehicle's gasoline performance. So predict stops whenever you can. Allowing your vehicle wind down to a stop is a good

way to lower gasoline usage

Follow the speed limit. Speeding is a very costly way to drive. Flying over the maximum allowed speed may complete your trip in less time, but it also means more trips to the gasoline pump and possibly even a couple to the local traffic court. Oh, and speaking about traffic court. be VERY careful about driving around there. that is where all the bad drivers have to go. that is one reason. Another reason is that the city usually presumes that they can get you another traffic citation while you are in the area since you were unlucky to get the first one. They will do something like having a "no turn on red light" sign in a place that is hard to see and they will jack up the fine. I was lucky enough to spot just such a trap in Los Angeles There was a sign that said that violation at that traffic light would be a THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY DOLLAR fine! Can't say that these people do not possess a sense of humor!

Here is some data about driving at higher speeds. Faster driving is going to lower your fuel performance proportionately. So the higher you speed, the harder the fuel efficiency hit on your auto. Driving seventy five mph as opposed to 65 mph will lower your fuel performance by 10 percent. Driving 70 mph as opposed to 55 mph will lower your lower your fuel performance by EIGHTEEN percent. So stop viewing speed limit signs as advice and slow down. Adhering to the speed limit is the safest and cheapest way to drive.

Most other solutions are totally contradictory or wrong... Some articles advised don't use your airconditioner which is not very helpful if you live in Florida or it is in the summer in the city! Then I found one article that advises to keep your automobile windows open for city driving but to keep your AC on while on the parkways because if you have the windows open while driving at high speeds causes drag which reduces MPG. Who's right? Who's wrong? Who cares? Does it lower gasoline consumption? No, probably not!

The most optimum solution to improve your fuel economy, with gasoline prices in the $3-4.50 range up and down over the last year or so is to sever your umbilical cord... the one that connects you to the gasoline pump and shed your chains of slavery to the oil companies and....

Convert to a hydrogen engine!
What if you never had to pump another gallon of gasoline again?
Convert your gasoline engine to hydrogen.
If you do a partial (hybrid) conversion then you should see increased fuel economy of up to 30% maybe more.
If you do this and also add acetone to your gas tank (which will save you another 25% or so) then you will have reduced your gasoline consumption by a combined 50%! Put in about 2-3 ounces of acetone per 10 gallons of gasoline and less gasoline will vaporize and you improve your fuel economy by 25% or more.
If you do a full gas to hydrogen conversion then you will never have to pump another gallon of gasoline for the rest of your life. It is really quite easy, costs hardly anything, doesn't pollute the environment and you will enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping to conserve resources instead of using up more than your fair share.
